QUINCY -- A Quincy man was taken to Blessing Hospital after suffering serious injuries when his car crashed into a semitrailer Wednesday morning just north of the city.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said a 1999 Jeep Carryall driven by Joseph W. Strieker, 36, was heading east on Wismann Lane just west of North 42nd Street at 7:53 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck the trailer of a westbound 2014 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Christopher R. Lee, 47, of Sandwich.

Strieker's vehicle went off the north side of the road and came to a rest in a field after the crash.

Lee was uninjured.

Strieker was cited on charges of improper lane use and driving with a suspended license.

Assisting were the Adams County Ambulance Service and the Tri-Township Fire Department.
