QUINCY -- A Quincy man was arrested Wednesday after being indicted on a federal methamphetamine charge.

The Illinois State Police said the West-Central Illinois Task Force served a federal indictment on Russell C. Miller, 52, while Miller was at the Adams County Jail.

According to the ISP, Miller at the time was facing state charges of unlawful delivery of between 100 and 400 grams of meth. The state case was dismissed, however, because of the federal prosecution.

Miller was taken to the Federal Courthouse in Springfield, where he was charged with unlawful possession of more than 50 grams of meth. Miller remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
