QUINCY -- The Great River Ski Team hopes to attract a crowd to the riverfront Tuesday for some family-friendly entertainment.
The club will host its annual water ski show at 6:30 p.m. in All America Park.
Brenda Vandament, a ski club organizer, said that with high water from floods in recent years, there hasn't been much skiing at times.
"We were able to last year, and, of course, we are able to this year," Vandament said. "Now our concern is that the water might be getting too low, but we do the best we can."
Club member have been practicing for the show, which features all types of skiing.
"The members you are seeing out there that night have been in the club for a really long time," Vandament said. "These are people who are show skiers. They've been practicing weekly, and they'll be doing barefooting, wakeboarding."
The club operates two clinics a year to attract new members, and it's common for entire families to support the club when someone joins.
"Everybody helps out, either by wrapping ropes or helping in the concession stand or announcing," Vandament said. "Anybody can join. You don't have to be a skier to join."
The show is open to the public.
Admission is $3, and concessions will be available.
