Gerald and Shirley Maas

Gerald and Shirley Maas of Quincy will be honored for their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Knights of Columbus North Room. Their children will host the celebration. Family and friends are invited; they request no gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Maas were married Sept. 14, 1957, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Mrs. Maas, the former Shirley Alger, is a daughter of the late Merle and Grace Alger. Mr. Maas is a son of the late Elmer and Coletta Maas.

They are the parents of Jerry (Sharon) Maas, Becky (Kevin) Warning and Cathy (John) Zanger, all of Quincy, and Randy (Laura) Maas and Nancy (Jim) Cromie, both of Liberty, Ill. They have 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Maas is co-owner of Maas Construction and farms. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mrs. Maas is retired.

They are members of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

The couple met through friends.
