Hugo and Maurine Magliocco of Springfield, Ill., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 19 with a gathering of family and friends at Tiramisu in Quincy.
Mr. Magliocco and the former Maurine Fisk were married Aug. 19, 1967, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb, Ill.
They are the parents of a son, Peter, of Quincy. They have one grandson.
The Maglioccos are both retired professors from Western Illinois University in Macomb, with Mrs. Magliocco in British literature and Mr. Magliocco in music. Following retirement, they moved to Springfield.
Mr. Magliocco is a past president of the International Trombone Association and has performed in several ensembles in the United States and Europe. He now plays trombone in the Springfield Municipal Band.
Mrs. Magliocco is membership chair of the World Affairs Council of Central Illinois, vice president of the University Professionals of Illinois Retirees Local 4100, and an activist with the Faith Coalition for the Common Good.
