WRIGHT CITY, Mo. – A seventh-inning rally fell just short for the Mark Twain softball team Tuesday in a 10-7 loss to Wright City.

Mark Twain (1-10) scored four runs in the top of the seventh. With two out, Sara Spoonhower delivered an RBI single to bring home Bria Hooley, and an RBI single by Shelby Hayes followed to make it a 10-5 game.

Mark Twain drew within three runs after an outfield error allowed Boling and Lexi Hummel to score, but a strikeout ended the game.

Mark Twain (1-10) got on the board in the first inning off a Lynsie Boling fielder's choice, but Wright City responded with two runs in the second inning.

In the fourth, the Tigers added two more runs off a Sydnee Brothers single to center and an Alyssa Ferry ground out fielder's choice to take a 3-2 lead.

Wright City struck for eight runs over the next three innings to pull ahead 10-3.
