Hannibal man arrested on drug charges near Marblehead

MARBLEHEAD, Ill. -- A Hannibal, Mo., man was taken into custody Tuesday after a K-9 unit alerted officers to the presence of drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop south of Marblehead.

William J. Ryan, 54, was stopped during a drug detail on Ill. 57 conducted by the West Central Illinois Task Force and Adams County Sheriff's Department. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine ICE and drug paraphernalia.

Ryan was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and was lodged in the Adams County Jail pending his first court appearance.
