BALDWIN CITY, Kan. -- The Culver-Stockton College men's soccer team didn't seem bothered the first time it fell behind.

The second time, C-SC had no answer.

Second-seeded Baker scored less than two minutes before halftime and never gave up the lead, earning a 2-1 victory Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament.

Tied at 1 late in the first half, C-SC goalkeeper Nicholas Luciani made a save on a shot by Joah Hickel. However, Austin Halsey picked up the rebound scored the eventual game-winning goal with 1:47 left in the half.

Baker went ahead 1-0 in the 26th minute, but less than five minutes later, seventh-seeded C-SC (9-8-3) got the equalizer when William Mansfield notched an unassisted goal.

Both teams had ample opportunity to score in the second half as Baker had 11 shots and C-SC had seven. Baker outshot C-SC 20-13 overall. Luciani made seven saves.
