QUINCY -- A charming -- and unlikely -- holiday romance is ringing in the holiday season as Quincy Community Theatre opens its box office Monday offering tickets for the musical "She Loves Me."
"She Loves Me" is a romantic comedy about Georg and Amalia, two people who work together and detest each other. Luckily for them, both find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals. When love takes an unexpected turn over the Christmas season, the pair discovers that perhaps they've found love in someone they never would have imagined. Based on a play that became the film, "You've Got Mail," this musical by the composers of "Fiddler on the Roof" became a Broadway hit.
"She Loves Me" features performers from Quincy, Hull, Payson and Macomb. The musical is under the direction of Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen with music direction by Stacy Taylor, choreography by Alison Shafer, scenic design by Technical Director Lorne Kelley, costumes by guest designer Julian AC King and stage management by David Samuels.
Tickets are $22 and $24. Performances are Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 and Dec. 7 to 10. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays to Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. For tickets, to volunteer backstage or to serve as an usher, visit 1qct.org or call the QCT box office, located in the Oakley-Lindsay Center, at 217-222-3209.
