HLGU's season comes to an end in loss to Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Hannibal-LaGrange University men's soccer team tried to mount a late comeback. It proved to be too little too late.

The Trojans scored in the 77th minute, cutting its deficit in half before falling 2-1 to Columbia College in the American Midwest Conference Tournament semifinals on Tuesday.

The Cougars scored twice in the first 10 minutes, outshot the Trojans 15-3 and had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

HLGU (10-7-1) didn't score until Phillip Kamletz converted an unassisted goal with less than 15 minutes remaining.
