Shooter considered his adversaries as his enemies

To The Herald-Whig:

The Democratic Party, the partisans of the left, and Republicans In Name Only have not accepted the reality of the November 2016 voter revolt.

Voters who believe in political power from the top down lost -- "Do as I say, not as I do." The voters who believe in political power from the bottom up -- "We the people" -- won.

Since the election, the losing voters continue using Saul Alinsky's 12 Rules for Radicals, just as President Obama and candidate Clinton have previously done. The two most obvious rules are: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

Please note the adversary is considered an enemy.

Another Alinsky rule is to "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Please note the adversary is a target.

In June 2017, 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Bellville, Ill., took targeting the enemy to the next level. He ambushed Republican congressmen at a practice ballfield in Alexandria, Va. Several were wounded, and Hodgkinson would die from the three wounds he received from Congressman Scalise's armed security detail.

Hodgkinson voiced and practiced Saul Alinsky's rules.

Just as all citizens have constitutional First Amendment rights, Hodgkinson used this right in print and social media to voice his anger toward President Trump and the Republican Party. However, he chose to act out his anger with violence. He had no criminal record, and his guns were purchased legally. The unanswered question is: Are there more outwardly law-abiding Alinsky radicals planning to take it to the next level?

It should be noted that no current laws or proposed gun control laws would have prevented the attempted assassination of unarmed Republicans in June. An armed professional security team saved the day.

Do the gun grabbers plan to provide armed professional security teams for those who must rely on the Constitution's Second Amendment for their security?
