CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Memorial Hospital in Carthage has received the Excellence of Outcomes award, which is given to hospitals that have been rated in the top quartile in the nation for quality, outcomes and patient satisfaction.

The Chartis Group presented the award in recognition of National Rural Health Day. Rankings for the award are determined by the iVantage Health Analytics hospital strength index. iVantage Health Analytics is a provider of health care analytic and performance management analytic tools.

The Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network recognize innovation, quality of care and dedication of health professionals and volunteers in communities. Memorial Hospital in Carthage received all three possible awards for quality, outcomes and patient satisfaction.

"We are very pleased to be recognized and given the Excellence in Outcomes award. However, for us, it is not about awards," said Dan Smith, Memorial Hospital chief human resource officer. "It is about excellent patient outcomes and outstanding patient experiences for every patient, every time. It is our dedicated and committed staff that makes this happen. In our eyes, this is what right looks like."
