Registration open for Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics

QUINCY -- Registration for the Quincy Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois is available at plungeillinois.com.

The annual Polar Plunge will take place Saturday, Feb. 24, at Moorman Lake.

Money raised through the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge will benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. On the day of the event, check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m. Participants, who are required to collect a minimum of $100 in donations, are encouraged to come in costume and to form teams. They will receive a red hooded sweatshirt and will be entered into a prize drawing for every $500 and $1,000 they raise.
