JWCC men's basketball team cruises to victory

QUINCY -- The John Wood Community College had little trouble in a 91-51 victory over Johnson County in the Town & Country Inn and Suites Classic Friday at the Student Activity Center.

The Trail Blazers (2-1) shot 57 percent from the field (35 of 61) in the game.

Chima Oduocha came off the bench to lead five JWCC players in double figures with 16 points. Aziz Fadika finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, Gentry Whiteman and Troy Burrows scored 11 points apiece and Garrett Gadeke added 10 points.

No Johnson County player scored in double figures. The Cavaliers (0-4) were ranked No. 17 in the NJCAA Division II preseason national poll.

JWCC plays Indian Hills -- ranked No. 6 in NJCAA Division I -- at 3 p.m. today. The Warriors beat Kankakee 86-67 Friday.
