Lantz scores 37 in C-SE's season opener

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. -- Laney Lantz scored 37 points, making 16 of 21 shots from the free-throw line, leading the Central girls basketball team to a 57-46 season opening victory over Brown County Monday.

Brown County only trailed 28-23 at halftime, but Lantz scored 14 of Central's 18 third-quarter points to extend the lead to 46-34.

Ally Heldt led Brown County with 20 points.
