Roger and Tawny Benz of 5308 S. 48th are celebrating 40 years of marriage with a trip to Branson, Mo., this month and a family dinner.
Mr. Benz and the former Tawny Cummings were married Nov. 19, 1977.
Mrs. Benz is a daughter of Mary Cummings and the late Ralph Cummings. Mr. Benz is a son of Rose Mary Benz and the late Edward Benz.
They are the parents of Becky (Mark) Guidish of Decatur, Ill., Angie (Dave) Obert of Liberty, Ill., Edward (Anna) Benz of Payson, Ill., and Chris (Laura) Benz of Quincy. They have 18 grandchildren.
Mr. Benz is a farmer and a part-time over-the-road driver for Dot Transportation. He is a Melrose Township trustee and enjoys spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Mrs. Benz helps on the farm and is a self-employed crafter for Gifts by Grammy. She volunteers at the Gene Grawe Fund office and enjoys sewing, crocheting, country dancing with Desperado's Dance Club, and spending time with family.
They are members of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he is a member of the Men's Society and she is a member of the Ladies Society, is funeral dinner chairperson and volunteers in the church office.
