CURRYVILLE, Mo. -- Two people were injured when a sport utility vehicle struck a bull on the eastern edge of Curryville at 7:46 p.m. Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Edward E. Taylor, 78, of Curryville, was heading west on U.S. 54, just east of Science Street, when a bull walked into the path of the vehicle.

Taylor and a passenger, Julia M. Taylor, 78, also of Curryville, were both airlifted by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia with what were described as moderate injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.

The SUV sustained extensive damage.
