Inside the matchup: It will be a rare girls-boys doubleheader as the Quincy and Oswego girls will tip at 5:30 p.m. This is the first of four non-conference Saturday home games where the varsity boys game is scheduled to tip earlier than the traditional 7:30 p.m. start. The Panthers are in their first season under the direction of Chad Pohlmann, who spent two seasons as an assistant coach before replacing Matt Borrowman as the head coach in May. Pohlmann previously spent eight seasons as the head girls basketball coach at Oswego. Junior guard Dylan Engler started every game last season when the Panthers played three sophomores and a freshman. Oswego went 0-4 in the Hoops for Healing Tournament, losing twice by five points or less. Junior forward Marco Wilson had 14 points and eight rebounds in a loss to DeKalb and 17 points against Hinsdale Central. Engler finished the tournament with 23 points against Hinsdale Central. Quincy has won two of the previous three meetings with Oswego, including a 64-49 victory in 2015 in the only previous meeting in Blue Devil Gym.
