FIRST TEAM OFFENSE
DALTON CRANE º QB
Pleasant Hill º 5-foot-10 º 165 º Sr.
The Wolves made the playoffs for the first time since 2009, and Crane was a big factor in that. He threw for 1,907 yards and 20 touchdowns, plus he rushed for 850 yards and 14 touchdowns to earn all-Western Illinois Valley Conference honors.
JIREHL BROCK º RB
Quincy º 6-0 º 200 º Jr.
Brock has drawn interest from Big Ten, Big 12 and Southeastern Conference schools, and for good reason. Despite missing a game and a half, he rushed for 1,588 yards and 23 TDs on 210 carries. He also returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown against QND.
RILEY LANGFORD º RB
West Hancock º 5-11 º 175 º Sr.
Langford provided the Titans with the ability to make a big run every time he touched the ball. He earned all-state honors after rushed for 1,396 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also had two touchdown catches.
BROCK WOOD º RB
South Shelby º 6-0 º 165 º Jr.
Wood's speed was lethal out of the Cardinals' backfield. He had a three-game stretch where he had more 700 rushing yards, and he finished with 1,667 yards and 18 touchdowns.
ZACH OSBORN º A-PB
Monroe City º 5-9 º 145 º Jr.
Osborn showed why he's the most versatile back for the Panthers. He churned out 1,565 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground while catching three touchdown passes, and four of his seven punt returns went for touchdowns.
COLE PENNEWELL º FB
Monroe City º 6-0 º 200 º Sr.
The Clarence Cannon Conference Offensive Player of the Year dominated opponents, rushing for 1,596 yards and 23 touchdowns on 250 carries. Pennewell did that despite missing most of district play with an illness.
REED HYER º WR
Notre Dame º 6-2 º 175 º Sr.
Good things happened with Hyer got the football. Of his 33 catches, 10 of them were for touchdowns. He had 516 yards receiving, averaging 15.6 yards per catch, as QND returned to the playoffs.
HAYDEN MILLER º WR
Knox County º 6-0 º 195 º Sr.
Miller provided the Eagles one of the best aerial threats in Northeast Missouri. He hauled in 48 catches for 606 yards and eight touchdowns to earn all-Lewis & Clark Conference honors.
TANNER SUSSENBACH º TE
Brown County º 6-4 º 205 º Sr.
Sussenbach set program records for career receptions, career receiving yards and career touchdown catches. He finished with 31 catches for 551 yard and nine scores to earn all-Western Illinois Valley Conference honors.
JONNY BOTTORFF º OL
Notre Dame º 6-4 º 290 º Jr.
Bottorff has earned attention from multiple colleges for his services on the line. He helped pave the way for 2,379 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns this season for the Raiders.
KOLLEN HUGHES º OL
Central º 6-1 º 285 º Jr.
A first-team all-Western Illinois Valley Conference center, Hughes was a force on the offensive line. He helped pave the way for Central's running backs to gain 3,295 rushing yards and 37 touchdowns.
JACKSON POWELL º OL
Palmyra º 6-2 º 185 º Jr.
The first-team all-Clarence Cannon Conference lineman was the anchor of the Panthers' line this fall. He paved the way to help Palmyra gain 3,441 yards on the ground and average 7.1 yards per carry.
OWEN SHELTON º OL
Quincy º 6-3 º 290 º Sr.
Shelton's strength was on display all season as he helped the Blue Devils' running backs run for 3,769 yards this season. He also helped give enough pass protection to allow QHS to have 1,089 passing yards.
ALEX WILSON º OL
Monroe City º 6-0 º 243 º Sr.
Wilson earned all-state, all-CCC and all district honors on the offensive line. He paved the way for an offense that collected more than 5,600 yards.
NOAH MENCER º PK
Palmyra º 6-0 º 175 º Sr.
Mencer continued to be the best kicker in the area despite recovering from an injury in the offseason. He made 9 of 11 field goals, and the longest was from 45 yards. He also made 28 of 29 extra points and had 24 touchbacks.
FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
EVAN ALLEN º DL
Hannibal º 6-foot-4 º 230 º Sr.
An anchor on the Pirates' defensive line, Allen registered 36 tackles and six sacks. He also had four tackles for loss to earn all-North Central Missouri Conference honors.
ANDY BIRD º DL
West Hancock º 6-1 º 270 º Sr.
The leader of the Titans' defense, Bird made 56 tackles and six were for loss. He also registered three sacks to earn all-West Central Conference honors. "He consumed the offensive line so the linebackers could eat," Titans coach Travis Cook said.
DAKOTA EHRHARDT º DL
Unity-Payson º 6-1 º 205 º Sr.
Ehrhardt led the Mustangs with eight sacks and had two defensive touchdowns. He made 60 tackles, 12 for loss, and recovered three fumbles to earn all-Western Illinois Valley Conference honors.
JACK HUNZIKER º DL
Clark County º 6-1 º 255 º Sr.
Hunziker was the force on the Indians' defensive line. He made 100 tackles, and 10 were for loss. He also had five sacks to earn all-Clarence Cannon Conference honors.
JON SAXBURY º DL
Monroe City º 6-1 º 285 º Jr.
An all-state and all-Clarence Cannon Conference pick, Saxbury registered 64 tackles and 13 were for loss for the Panthers.
BROCK BAIRD º LB
Quincy º 6-2 º 210 º Sr.
Baird was the central figure to the Blue Devils' defense. He led the team with 96 tackles, with four were for loss, to earn all-Western Big Six honors.
JACKSON CONNELL º LB
Notre Dame º 6-2 º 210 º Sr.
Connell leaves the program as the fifth-highest tackler in QND history. He recorded 94 this season, and nine were for loss, along with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
COLE PENNEWELL º LB
Monroe City º 6-0 º 200 º Sr.
Pennewell led the Panhters with 114 tackles, and 13 went for loss. He also had four sacks and came up with a vital blocked punt in the Class 1 state title game victory.
PEYTON PLUNKETT º LB
Palmyra º 6-2 º 205 º Sr.
Plunkett was named CCC Defensive Player of the Year. The senior had an area-best 146 tackles and 30 for loss while making three sacks, one interception and recovered a fumble. "Peyton has sideline to sideline range," Panthers coach Kevin Miles said.
NOAH STROHKIRCH º LB
Central º 5-7 º 150 º Jr.
He didn't have the biggest frame, but that didn't stop Strohkirch from making 108 tackles and two sacks this season. He earned all-WIVC honors. "He was very hard to block because of his lack of size," Panthers coach Brad Dixon said.
GAGE DODGE º DB
Scotland County º 5-7 º 185 º Sr.
Dodge had a team-high five interceptions and made 54 tackles along with three sacks for the Tigers. He earned all-Lewis & Clark Conference and all-district honors. "He did an exceptional job commanding our defense," Tigers coach Troy Carper said.
BRAXDEN NEIL º DB
Palmyra º 6-3 º 155 º Sr.
Neil made 48 tackles and had nine interceptions to earn all-CCC honors. He also had three tackles for loss and a sack, and he returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown against South Shelby.
DAWSON SHIVELY º DB
Monroe City º 6-2 º 170 º Sr.
Shively had an area-best nine interceptions, including one that sealed the Panthers' state championship victory. He also made 72 tackles and forced two fumbles.
WYATT WAELDER º DB
Hannibal º 6-0 º 165 º Sr.
Waelder made 25 tackles and had two interceptions. He earned all-NCMC and district honors. "He was our team-leader on defense," Pirates coach Mark St. Clair said.
AVERY WILSON º P
Quincy º 5-10 º 170 º Sr.
Wilson gave the Blue Devils the ability to flip the field with his leg. The all-WB6 punter had 22 punts for an average of 46 yards, and eight landed inside the 20-yard line.
