QUINCY -- Eight students in John Wood Community College's agricultural sciences program recently participated in the Illinois Post-Secondary Agriculture Student organization's fall conference held in Springfield.
Participants from JWCC included Lindsey Deming of Monroe City, Mo., Eli Gronewold of Golden, Kourtney Harris of Perry, Jarrett Hoover of Pittsfield, Sara Nelson of Carthage, Cole Ransom of Winchester, Elizabeth Reis of Barry and Kaitlyn Roberts of Augusta.
Students that earned placing in the events were:
Kaitlyn Roberts of Augusta, first place in Animal Health Employment Interview.
Kourtney Harris of Perry, second place Fruit and Vegetable Production Employment Interview.
Elizabeth Reis of Barry, second place in the Employment Interview Diary Production.
Gary Shupe, JWCC agricultural sciences chair and Ag Club advisor, accompanied the students to the conference. The event offers students the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge needed to secure employment in the agricultural career field.
