Winters scores 17 to lead Suns to first victory

AUGUSTA, Ill. -- Brayden Winters scored 17 points to lead the Southeastern boys basketball team to its first victory of the season in a 53-42 victory over Liberty Tuesday.

Southeastern (1-7) led 28-22 going into halftime and pushed the deficit to seven entering the final quarter. The Suns went 14 for 18 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Chase Twidwell had 13 points and six blocked shots for Southeastern.

Landon Obert led the Eagles (0-7) with 14 points, and Jordan Niesen added 11.
