Lathrom scores 29 to pace Tigers

MONROE CITY, Mo. -- McKenzie Lathrom scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Mark Twain girls basketball team to a 59-24 victory over Marion County in the consolation semifinals of the Monroe City Tournament.

Lathrom, a University of Missouri-St. Louis commit, made 9 of 10 free throws to outscore the Mustangs by herself.

She did most of her scoring in the first eight minutes as she netted 13 points. Mark Twain led 19-3 after the opening quarter. She finished with 20 points in the first half.

Lathrom didn't score in the fourth quarter as Mark Twain led 51-13.

Marion County had just four field goals in the first half and two of those came from Aimee Glaspie off the bench. Glaspie and Jordan Chatfield led the Mustangs with six points apiece.
