Durham teen injured in crash west of Lewistown

LEWISTOWN, Mo. -- A Durham teen was injured in a Friday morning crash west of Lewistown.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue driven by Makayla C. Dickerson, 17, was traveling west on Mo. 6, three miles west of Lewistown, at 6:55 a.m. The patrol said the driver fell asleep and the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Dickerson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., with minor injuries.

The patrol was assisted by the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, LaBelle Fire Department and Lewis County Ambulance.
