College game preview: Truman State at Quincy University

Records: Truman State -- 14-8 (9-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference). Quincy -- 7-16 (3-11 GLVC).

Inside the matchup: The Bulldogs, who are second in the GLVC West Division behind Drury, have put themselves in a solid position to make the GLVC Tournament field. They sit fourth in the GLVC points ratings after winning three of their last four games, including an 81-80 victory at William Jewell on Thursday as sophomore guard Brodric Thomas posted his fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He is averaging 16.6 points and 6.2 rebounds. Senior forward Zach Fischer leads the Bulldogs in scoring (17.3 points) and rebounding (10.2 boards), while junior guard Jake Velky is averaging 16.6 points and has made 60 3-pointers. Truman State shoots 39.2 percent from 3-point range, with Velky fourth in the league with 2.7 made treys per game. Fischer is second in the league in rebounding. Quincy swept the season series from Truman State last year and leads the all-time series 61-59. The teams first met in 1919. The Hawks are allowing 77.4 points per game, which is 12th in the GLVC, and rank 13th in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio.
