Raiders hand Pleasant Plains first loss

BEARDSTOWN, Ill. -- Everyone in the Quincy Notre Dame lineup had a hit on Saturday, and David Hutson had a single and a homer in the Raiders' 6-2 victory over Pleasant Plains in the Beardstown Tournament.

The remaining games in the Beardstown Tournament were cancelled because of the weather.

The Raiders (10-1) took a 2-0 lead in the first behind RBI singles from Nick Wellman and Peyton Stegeman. They added two more runs in the second after an RBI double from Dylan Venvertloh and a sacrifice fly from Nick Schwartz. Hutson hit a two-run home run to left to give the Raiders a 6-0 lead.

Pleasant Plains, which suffered its first loss, scored two runs in the fifth. Dylan Foley pitched six innings, allowing just two runs off five hits, for QND, and Jase Wallingford pitched the seventh.
