MONROE CITY, Mo. -- A Monroe City man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Elvis Solorio-Viveros, 27, was driving his 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche at 1:38 a.m. eastbound on Bethlehem Trail, south of Monroe City, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a culvert, then struck a tree and came to rest in a ditch.
The report said Solorio-Viveros, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. His vehicle was totaled.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Ralls County Sheriff's Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Monroe County Ambulance and Monroe County Fire Department.
