LADDONIA, Mo. -- Both drivers involved a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon chose not to seek immediate medical treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that Vernace W. Charlton, 18, of Benton City, was driving north on Mo. 19 about eight miles north of Laddonia. Ronald E. Jones, 70, of Dardenne Prairie, was driving south.

Investigators said that about 4:05 p.m., Jones turned into the path of Charlton's vehicle. There was minor damage to Jones' 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck and extensive damage to Charlton's 1993 Chevrolet S10 pickup. Both trucks were towed from the scene.

Jones was wearing a safety device at the time of the collision and reported no injuries. Charlton was not wearing a safety device. Officers said he appeared to have minor injuries but refused treatment.
