Adams County advances to District 17 title game

BEARDSTOWN, Ill. -- Trailing 2-0 entering the bottom of the third inning, Adams County scored all of its runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings and defeated Rushville 14-4 in the Little League District 17 tournament on Tuesday at Schmoldt Park. Adams County now will play South Springfield for the district championship.

Adams County scored five runs in the third, with a two-run single by Max Frericks the big blow. Levi Hoener led off the fourth inning with a solo homer, and Frericks contributed an RBI triple in the three-run frame.

Adams County put the game out of reach with six runs in the fifth. Nolan Robb and Brady Lowe both had two-run singles, and Denver Bryan had a two-run double.
