LADDONIA, Mo. -- A Liberty man was involved in a Thursday afternoon fatal crash in Audrain County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2014 Freightliner driven by Roby E. Sharp. 50, of Liberty, was eastbound on U.S. 54, 2 miles south of Laddonia, at 2 p.m. The patrol said an eastbound 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Kierra T. Glispie, 24, of Justice, Ill., was passing the Freightliner when it struck head-on a westbound 2008 Mercury Mariner driven by Douglas W. Turner, 75, of Licking. The Mariner then was pushed into the Freightliner, the patrol said.
Turner and a passenger, Helen J. Turner, 72, of Licking, were pronounced dead at the scene at 2:30 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Kevin Cash. They were taken to Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico.
Glispie was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries, and her passenger, Kyreoin Glispie, 18, of Justice, was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. by Dr. James Brillhart at SSM Medical Center in Mexico.
Sharp was not injured.
The Turners and Sharp were wearing seat belts, the patrol said, but the Glispies were not.
The patrol's major crash investigative unit and the Audrain County Sheriff's Department assisted at the crash scene.
