Three injured in West Quincy crash

WEST QUINCY, Mo. -- Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in West Quincy.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2006 Chrysler minivan driven by Michael E. Metcalf, 71, of Palmyra, was westbound on U.S. 24 and a 2008 Honda Accord driven by Albert F. Emerick, 86, of Quincy, Ill., was southbound from the Ayerco parking lot at 3:42 p.m. The patrol said the Honda pulled into the path of the minivan.

Emerick was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with moderate injuries. His passenger, his wife Darlene I. Emerick, 87, was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing with minor injuries. Metcalf as taken by private auto to Blessing with minor injures.

The patrol said all three were wearing seat belts.

The patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Palmyra Fire Department and Palmyra EMS.
