OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Culver-Stockton College was picked to finish fifth in the North Division in the annual Heart of America Athletic Conference football coaches' preseason poll, the league announced Monday during Media Day.
Three-time defending division champions Grand View University and Baker University were picked to repeat as North and South Division winners, respectively.
Grand View received four of six first place votes and earned 49 points (teams do not vote for themselves) to earn top billing in the preseason selections. North Division co-champion Benedictine College claimed a first-place tally and was picked to finish second with 46 points, while William Penn University claimed the remaining first-place vote and 43 points for a third-place prediction. Peru State College, Culver-Stockton and Graceland University rounded out the North Division poll.
The Wildcats begin the season on Aug. 25 with a non-conference game at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, N.D. Conference play begins on Sept. 1 with the Wildcats playing host to Central Methodist at Ellison Poulton Stadium in Canton, Mo.
