QUINCY -- An Ursa man has been indicted in the reported sexual assault of a child.

Court records show an Adams County grand jury indicted Richard S. Ellis, 32, with three counts of predatory criminal sexual abuse of a child, class X felonies. If convicted, Elllis faces between six and 60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The bill of indictment alleges that Ellis had sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 from Sept. 1, 2011, to Sept. 1, 2015.

Ellis was arrested July 18 after the Adams County Sheriff's Department investigated a sexual assault complaint filed with the department.

Ellis is set to return to court Aug. 14 for a status hearing.

He is being held in the Adams County Jail on $400,000 bond.
