Verlin and Mary Frances Tonnies

Verlin and Mary Frances Tonnies of Knox City, Mo., will  be honored for their 65th wedding anniversary with a card shower. Cards may be sent to them at 55263 Finch Ave., Knox City, MO 63446. They also plan a trip to Branson, Mo., at a later date.

Mr. Tonnies and the former Mary Frances Schempp were married Aug. 19, 1953, in Braymer, Mo.

Mrs. Tonnies is a daughter of the late Karl and Clara Schempp. Mr. Tonnies is a son of the late Ben and Gertrude Tonnies.

They are the parents of Rebekah McCarty and husband, Paul, of Knox City and Deborah Huebotter and husband, Steve, of Columbia, Mo. They have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Tonnies still farms and enjoys hunting and flea markets.

Mrs. Tonnies enjoys working on puzzles.

They are members of Knox City Methodist Church and enjoy gardening and arrow hunting.

The couple was high school sweethearts.
