Mike and Judy Young

Mike and Judy Young of 1013 Klondike Road marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Hawaii in March and a Caribbean cruise in June. They also celebrated with a family dinner Saturday at Tiramisu.

Mr. Young and the former Judith Scheufele were married Aug. 17, 1968, at St. John Catholic Church. The wedding was part of a double wedding with her sister Judy.

Mrs. Young is a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Scheufele. Mr. Young is a son of the late Jess and Ruth Young.

They are the parents of Tara and George Vranas, Esq., of Lemont, Angela and Joseph Radkins of Quincy and Todd Young, Esq., CPA, of Chicago. They have six grandchildren.

Mr. Young retired as an insurance inspector/investigator. He is the family handyman and an automobile enthusiast.

Mrs. Young retired as supervisor of radiation therapy at Blessing Hospital. She is a member of five card groups.

They are members of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Elks and have been members of Marriage Encounter Group for more than 35 years.

The couple met when she worked at Deters Dairy and Ice Cream store at 12th and Broadway, while attending Quincy Notre Dame High School.
