Accreditations/Certifications

Stacie Owens of Liberty, a regulatory compliance officer at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, has earned the status of certified healthcare safety professional from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers. She has worked for the hospital for three years. Owens has a master's degree in business administration and a biology degree, both from Quincy University. She also is a graduate of the Blessing Hospital Medical Laboratory Technicians program and a certified medical technologist.

Activities

Alan Obert, an outpatient clinical therapist with Blessing Physician Services, attended a four-day training program on the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder presented by the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania. Obert has a master's degree in social work from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Jeff Steinkamp of Quincy, a United States Powered Paragliding Association pilot, made a workshop presentation titled "Powered Paragliding 101," on July 25 at the 2018 AirVenture Air Show in Oshkosh, Wis. The show was sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Appointments

Capt. David A. Hall, a Hunnewell, Mo., native and director of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Missouri Information Analysis Center in Jefferson City, will transfer to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division as director. He joined the patrol in 1993, assigned to Troop B, Zone 7, Edina. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1988 to 1992. Hall has an associate of science degree from Allan Hancock College, an associate of applied science in security administration from the Community College of the Air Force, an associate of science in criminal justice from Mineral Area Community College, a bachelor of science in business management from the University of LaVerne and a master of science in criminal justice from Columbia College.

Honors

The Quincy Fire Department named its Crew of the Month for July and August. The July crew was firefighters Mick Crist, Kevin Hickey and Adam Huckey. The July crew was Lt. Alan Munger and firefighters Paul Mason and Steve Pezzella.
