HLGU men, women shut out at Mount Mercy

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Hannibal-LaGrange men's soccer team attempted only two shots on goal during a 2-0 non-conference loss to Mount Mercy Saturday at Plaster Athletic Complex.

Mount Mercy scored its first goal late in the first half and extended its lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 52nd minute. HLGU was outshot by the Mustangs 22-7.

HLGU had just three shots in the women's match and lost to Mount Mercy 9-0. Payton Pottratz, Holli Jones and Isabel Alvarez all had two goals for the Mustangs. Trojans keeper Samantha Pikaard made seven saves.
