Eric Jones threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns as the Central football team, ranked No. 4 in Class 1A, defeated North Greene 60-8 in White Hall on Friday night.

All three of Jones' touchdown passes came in the first half. His longest was a 71-yarder to Cole Williams with 1:18 remaining in the first quarter to give Central a 22-0 lead.

The Panthers (2-0) ran for 259 yards. Four running backs scored touchdowns. Chayse Houston rushed for 96 yards on just three carries and caught a 49-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Noah Strohkirch had a 23-yard touchdown run and a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Triopia 41, Pleasant Hill 6: Isiaiah Rogers scored the lone touchdown for the Wolves on a 2-yard run with nine seconds left in the game in a loss at Concord. Shawn Bell scored two touchdowns and Zach Thompson had three to help build a 35-0 halftime lead for the Trojans.

Greenfield/Northwestern 28, Brown County 0: The Hornets were held to 156 yards of offense in a home loss. Two first-quarter touchdowns by the Tigers put Brown County in a 14-0 hole that they could not climb out of. The Hornets averaged less than three yards per carry and committed nine penalties for 80 yards.

Winchester West Central 28, Unity 20: Wes Hughes scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak with 5 minutes, 44 seconds left in the game to give the Cougars an eight-point lead on Friday night in Mendon. The Mustangs had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, driving to the Cougars' 25-yard line, but they turned the ball over on downs with 1 minute, 31 seconds left. Jacob Presser threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Luke Jansen with 9:54 left in the third quarter to put Unity (0-2) ahead 14-6, but West Central (1-1) regained the lead by scoring two touchdowns later in the third. Unity got within 22-20 on a 27-yard scoring pass from Presser to Skyler Hagerbaumer with 10:17 left in the game, but the 2-point conversion run failed.

Presser was 11 of 23 for 158 yards, while Hagerbaumer rushed 18 times for 92 yards. Jansen made five catches for 103 yards. Andrew Kaufmann led West Central with 126 rushing yards on 12 carries.

Auburn 49, Pittsfield 8: A 31-yard touchdown pass from Jack Palmer to Logan Howland in the second quarter was the lone bright spot for the Saukees in a Sangamo Conference loss on the road. Palmer threw for 116 yards. Gauge Gratton rushed for 53 yards on 14 carries.
