College roundup: Lightning forces HLGU to settle for tie

The Hannibal-LaGrange men's soccer team was tied 1-1 with Iowa Wesleyan with 10 minutes remaining in the game when lightning in the area forced the officials to cancel the rest of the game.

The Trojans (0-2-1) scored first on a header by Issac Lehmkuhl in the 27th minute. After the Trojans were called for a foul, Iowa Wesleyan (1-1-1) tied the game in the 68th minute on a goal by Mariano Mateo just moments before the game was called.

Illinois Central 7, JWCC 0: The John Wood Community College women allowed just one goal in the second half in Peoria. Goalkeeper Chelsea Wood finished with 16 saves for the Trailblazers (0-7).

JWCC game stopped: The John Wood Community College men were trailing 1-0 to Lewis and Clark, ranked No. 7 in the NJCAA, with 40 minutes remaining in the game when it was stopped because of lightning. Information about when the game will be resumed or restarted was not available.
