QHS loses two matches in Rock Island

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Quincy High School girls' tennis team played a match and a half in Western Big Six Conference action at Rock Island Alleman on Saturday, losing to the host school 7-2 and falling to United Township 3-2 in a match that was cut short by rain. Emily Klinner won the Blue Devils' only single match against Alleman when she defeated Haley Hoffman 6-4, 6-4. Olivia Clayton and Isabella Trinh defeated Lucy Rector and Brooke McKeown in No. 1 doubles action 9-8, (8-6). Clayton and Trinh both won their singles matches against United Township, but the Blue Devils lost the remaining three matches.
