Band, raffles to raise money for American Legion

QUINCY -- American Legion Post 37 will hold a fundraiser from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in the American Legion Pavilion at the Illinois Veterans Home.

Rosy Benjamin said everyone is welcome and should show support for the American Legion.

The Ben Jamin Band will provide entertainment. The Ben Jamin Rappers also will be featured for a tribute.

There will be a dollar dance with veterans. Food and drinks will be available, as well as a 50/50 raffle, other raffles, a silent auction and door prizes.

Raffle tickets will be $2 each or 6 for $10. Top prizes will be a 15-foot deer hunter tree stand, a kettle charcoal smoker, a professional ukulele and $50 oil change from Shottenkirk.

Everyone is welcome to bring lawn chairs for the event. In case of rain, the activities will move into Lippincott Hall.
