Christina Bostrom's lone hit of the night proved to be the biggest one for the Illini West softball team on Tuesday.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Bostrom connected on a game-winning double to give the Chargers a 6-5 win over West Hancock at Carthage.

The Titans (6-3 overall, 0-1 WCC) took the lead in the top of the ninth on a triple by pinch-hitter Danni LaLose.

Marley Hall led West Hancock with three RBI, while Kerbee Koehler, Becca Elschlager and Megan Skarin each added two hits. Skarin (3-2) went the distance for the loss.

Lashay Rodeffer finished 2 for 3 with three RBI for Illini West (8-2, 1-0), while Alyssa Swanson came a home run away from hitting for the cycle.

Swanson (4-1) picked up the win, striking out six while going all nine innings.

Quincy 2, Liberty 0: After halting a five-game losing streak last week, the Blue Devils needed extra innings on the road to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since late March.

QHS's Mackenzi Fairley walked to lead off the eighth and scored following a single by Raina Naderhoff and subsequent error by the Eagles.

Sophomore Jordyn Mecklenburg followed with a single to score Naderhoff and give QHS a two-run lead.

Fairley (4-3), who struck out 13, worked a scoreless eighth to secure the win.

Mecklenburg finished 2 for 4 at the plate, while Kelsey Price added two hits.

Lucy Cramsey led Liberty (5-7) with a double, while Amber Wellman (3-2) suffered the loss, striking out eight.

Piasa Southwestern 9, Quincy Notre Dame 5: The Lady Raiders fought back the entire game only to see the Birds blow the game open with three runs in the top of the seventh in a loss at The Backyard.

After falling behind 6-0 after two innings, QND scored three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-5.

But the killshot came in the seventh when Piasa's Tiffany Davis hit a two-run double to push the margin to four runs.

Morgan Grawe led the Lady Raiders (6-2), going 2 for 3 with three RBI.

Emily McCaughey (3-2) suffered the loss, allowing six runs in four innings.

Pittsfield 9, Griggsville-Perry 1: A huge two-out rally in the bottom of the second was enough to propel the Saukees to their seventh win in a row.

A two-out single by Molly Ward in the second helped push across six runs in the inning to cruise to the Pike County Conference win at home.

Pittsfield (9-1 overall, 3-1 PCC) was led by sophomore Kaity Schultz on the mound, allowing three hits in a complete game. Schultz (5-0) struck out five and walked six.

Schultz added two hits at the plate, while Abby Stinson also had a good offensive day, going 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Keesila Thomas (3-3) suffered the loss for the Lady Tornadoes (6-6 overall, 0-1 PCC).

West Central 11, Pleasant Hill 0: The Wolves got seven strikeouts from Lauren Dameron, and Paige Allen went 2 for 3 in the loss.

WOMEN'S SOFTBALL

Missouri Baptist 2-5, Culver-Stockton 1-7: The Lady Wildcats spilt on the road in St. Louis, dropping Game 1 before jumping back in the nightcap.

Trailing 4-1 heading into the top of the sixth of Game 2, C-SC platted four runs to take the lead and then pushed two more runs across an inning later to seal the win.

Jackie Clark homered and drove in two for the game, with Cassie Fischer adding a double and RBI.

Danielle Kaltmayer (4-6) earned the win, while Katie Thomas worked the final two innings to pick up her first collegiate save.

In the first game, the Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Carley Thurston.

But a two-run bottom half of the inning by the Lady Spartans proved to be too much.

Sara Eggleston (5-8) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on four hits.
