Just a warning: "Vertigo" might make you dizzy with its whirlwind tour through the decades.
The cover band from the Quincy/Hannibal area, which features a wide-ranging catalog that spans from the 1960s to contemporary music, is playing at The Back Alley Bar & amp; Grill in Pittsfield at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Tim Smith is the lead vocalist and Mark Hickerson is the lead guitarist for the band, which features Rick Collins on bass and Dave Garner on drums.
The current lineup has been playing together since January, and the band itself is approaching its one-year anniversary.
"Our main goal was to have a good time and please the fans," Smith said. "It's not about a job, it's about a hobby. It's strictly about pleasing the fans and doing what you do with your talents."
The band plays a variety of music -- ranging from classic rock to dance music to Top 40 hits -- in an effort to allow the audience to have a good time, Smith said.
"Our big thing is to get as many fans as possible and to pack our shows," Smith said. "We always put little twists in each show just to make it different and it's usually a lot of fun."
"Vertigo" is playing around the area two to three times a month throughout the summer. For more information, see www.myspace.com/vertigo4u
