Peter and Elizabeth Schmidt of Winchester, Calif., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with their immediate family and invited guests at a dinner party in the Welk Resort Restaurant at the Lawrence Welk Resort in Escondido, Calif.

Mr. Schmidt and the former Elizabeth A. Rupp were married May 1, 1948, in Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Chicago.

Mrs. Schmidt, who was born April 2, 1926, in Quincy, is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Rupp of Quincy. Mr. Schmidt, who was born Nov. 17, 1925, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam G. Schmidt of Garner, Iowa.

They are the parents of five children. They have nine grandchildren.
