Donald and Shirley Llewellyn of Clayton marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration Saturday in St. Thomas Catholic Church Hall in Camp Point. The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Mr. Llewellyn and the former Shirley June Smith were married May 3, 1958, in Fort Knox, Ky.

Mrs. Llewellyn is a daughter of the late Harold Smith and Margaret and Roy Wing. Mr. Llewellyn is a son of the late Martin and Rosa Llewellyn and Red and Pauline Koser.

They are the parents of Bill (Lori) Llewellyn of Mount Sterling, James (DeAnna) Llewellyn and Nanna O'Donnell, both of Clayton, Sue (Mike) Owen of Bowen and Mike (Janet) Llewellyn of Quincy. They have 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Llewellyn retired from the Electric Wheel Co. and Mrs. Llewellyn retired from the Western Illinois Department of Corrections.

They are members of the Disciples of Christ Church in Clayton.

The couple were introduced while he was stationed at Fort Knox by her sister Linda Cady and her husband, Marvin.
