What is the speed limit on North 36th from Koch's Lane to Spring Lake Road?

Adams County Chief Deputy Fred Kientzle says by state law, the speed limit for a regular car or truck on a stretch of road not marked by speed limit signs is 55 miles an hour.

When was the first log cabin built in Quincy?

John Wood, the first white settler in Quincy, built the first log cabin in December 1822 at what is now Front and Delaware streets. It was 16 feet by 20 feet and fastened together with wooden pegs. An oil painting of the building was later done and it appears in the late Quincy historian Carl Landrum's "Pictorial History of Quincy" book.

How long can a trailer be parked on a city street in Quincy?

Quincy Police Department Traffic Safety Officer Neal Meyer says trailers, hooked to a vehicle or not, can only remain parked on a city street for 24 hours. Illinois law requires all trailers being towed on a roadway to have proper lighting and safety chains. The registration plate must be securely mounted to keep it from swinging and must be clearly visible.
