Mount Sterling driver ticketed after wreck

A Mount Sterling driver was injured when her car hit a guardrail and culvert and overturned at 1:26 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 24 west of Clayton.

Kendra N. Shank, age not given, was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment.

The Illinois State Police reports an eastbound Ford left the south side of the road, struck a guardrail and a culvert, went airborne and traveled about 100 feet before overturning on the driver's side in a field.

Shank was ticketed on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and having no insurance.
