The Community Foundation of the Quincy Area is accepting applications for its 2008 Competitive Grant Programs. Nonprofit organizations must have IRS 501(c)(3) status classification to apply. Applications are due June 1.
Grants will be awarded from unrestricted endowments and field of interest funds.
Unrestricted endowments provide resources for making grants to serve arts and culture, community betterment, education, health, and human services. The grants generally will not exceed $1,000.
Field of interest fund grants serve specific interests or geographic areas, as established by each fund's founder.
Application can be:

* Picked up at public libraries in Adams, Brown, Hancock and Pike counties in Illinois; Clark, Lewis, Marion, Ralls, Pike, Knox, Shelby and Monroe counties in Missouri; or Lee County, Iowa.

The Community Foundation of the Quincy Area is a nonprofit resource that encompasses 13 area counties and works with donors to build charitable funds that support local causes.
