Driver injured in car-truck collision

CARTHAGE, ILL. — A Nauvoo driver was seriously injured when her car and a liquid fertilizer delivery truck collided on Ill. 94 about three miles north of Carthage at 1:34 p.m. Monday. There was no chemical spill, according to police.

Suzanne C. Marson, 61, was airlifted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment and is reported in fair condition in the intensive care unit.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Department reports a So-il Service Inc. of Carthage's 1998 International 4900 (liquid delivery truck) was westbound on County Road 1800 North when the driver, Darin Kohl, 26, of Hamilton, attempted to cross Ill. 94 and collided with a southbound 1998 Ford driven by Suzanne Marson.

Neither Kohl nor a passenger in the Marson's car, William Marson, 83, of Basco, were injured, according to police.

Assisting were the Carthage Fire Department, Carthage Ambulance and Air Evac.
