Man arrested after police chase

A Hannibal man wanted for failing to return to the Community Supervision Center was arrested Tuesday but not before he led police on a 20-minute chase. A woman was arrested for aiding the man.

A warrant had been issued for Dustin E. Talbott, 23, after his failure to return to the center. Talbott was found in a residence in the 1200 block of Center and physically resisted officers. He fled on foot through streets and alleys before he was captured at 4:51 p.m.

Talbott was placed on a 24-hour hold on a charge of interfering with police, assault on a law enforcement officer and on the parole absconder warrant.

Also arrested was Kala A. Nelson, 19, of Hannibal, on a charge of hindering prosecution. She was lodged in the Marion County Jail on a 24-hour hold until an arrest warrant could be obtained.
