Two Clarksville residents injured in collision

Two Clarksville residents were injured when a pickup truck and semi tractor-trailer collided at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 61 at Route F south of Palmyra.

Injured and taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital were Wesley R. Griffith, 22, and his passenger, Alexandria L. Cannon, 19. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Griffith was driving a 2004 Ford pickup west in the U.S. 61 crossover and tried to cross the highway when he pulled into the path of a southbound 1999 Kenworth driven by Brandon S. Curnutt, 32, of Gower. After the impact, the pickup truck ran off the road and overturned.
